Sometimes all it takes is for someone to believe in you. For me, that encouragement helped me come into my own and realize I had so much more to offer.
When Joe, my partner, invited me to help with his investment properties, it opened a new chapter in my life. I was ready for something more, and his trust gave me the freedom to step into it. I was designing layouts, planning flow, and shaping homes that became vacation rentals people wanted to stay at. That trust lit something inside me. It wasn’t only about the houses—it was about realizing my ideas had value and I was stepping into a part of myself I had been waiting to express.
Not long after, I also found myself trusted with a unique opportunity: serving as the exclusive REALTOR® for a group of international investors from Israel. From 2018 to 2024, I oversaw their ‘new build’ projects in Cape Coral—from identifying land, to setting up builder interviews for the projects, to walking the properties and keeping my investors updated. Cape Coral became their flagship model, and it was fulfilling to be their boots on the ground, their advocate, and their voice when challenges arose.

In 2016, I decided to get my real estate license and begin working with clients. I already had some insight from years earlier when I worked for a real estate education company, organizing events and having traveled a few times with students, I learned alongside them. This became an asset once I entered the industry. Real estate felt natural because it brought together different parts of who I am and gave me a way to use them in the service of others.
Alongside traditional client work, I began collaborating closely with investors. I guided two sets of investors through multiple new-build cycles, even navigating the aftermath of Hurricane Ian by coordinating urgent repairs on homes that were just days from closing. More than once, I was able to connect buyers with sellers before construction was even complete. Those experiences deepened my skills in negotiation, coordination, and creative problem-solving.
In 1992, long before this new chapter, I moved from Southern California to Florida with my then-husband and our three young children. His roofing business had been hit hard by the recession, and we needed a fresh start. I was a stay-at-home mom, and that move was a major life change. Leaving behind everything familiar to start over taught me resilience, resourcefulness, and how to navigate uncertainty—skills I draw on now when helping clients through transitions.
Raising my kids shaped me just as much. I created a home where they had room to grow, explore, and express themselves. I focused on creativity, patience, and laughter. I didn’t try to mold them—I gave them space to become who they were. Later, when my mother transitioned into assisted living, I became her advocate and still actively ensure her needs are met and her voice heard. My real family experiences taught me how to listen deeply and stand beside people during change. That’s exactly how I show up for my clients.
I also carry the values I was raised with. My dad served 20 years in the Air Force. My mom also served but stepped away to raise six children. They taught me to work diligently, be loyal, follow through, and take care of others. Those lessons are woven into everything I do, personally and professionally.

Real estate is a good fit for me because I’ve lived through major moves. I understand the evolving needs of a family. I was raised with values that prioritize people over personal gain. I bring those experiences and values into every client relationship. When I think back to that initial moment of empowerment, I realize I just needed someone to believe in me. That encouragement led me not only to a career, but to a calling.
Outside of work, I journal, garden, bake, and spend time with my grandchildren. I grow cayenne peppers and pineapples on our terrace and host Sunday brunches with my family, a tradition I began with my parents. I’m also a certified life coach and see myself mentoring others in real estate one day.
Real estate is my job, but it has really become a passion of mine. My greatest joy is helping people through big transitions because there are so many elements involved. It takes careful consideration of family needs and dynamics, lifestyle, long- vs. short-term returns, functionality of a space, and so much more. Clients often say I’m “pushy but kind,” and I take that as a compliment. I stay ahead of the details, support my clients’ needs, and always lead with heart.
Over the years I’ve guided a wide range of clients. Each situation is unique, but what they all share is a partner who is invested in their success and well-being. That’s where I focus my energy: doing what is best for my clients, offering honest advice, and always maintaining my integrity. The relationships with my clients extend beyond the transaction—when you need me, I am here for you!
Sincerely,
Therese Taylor
